Professional Law Enforcement Officers have proven their true dedication towards working canines and their knowledge of laws for working canines. Oregon K9 Consulting LLC will not offer training for working canines to private citizens, private security companies or any other private companies. Obedience Class

Oregon K9 LLC is conducting a 7 week obedience and behavior modification class for the community.
All proceeds will be deposited for 501c Dog Rescue.

Class Location: South County Fire and Rescue, Saginaw Station

Price:  $80.00 for 7 week course for early registration, $100.00 on the first day of class.

Oregon K9 Statue for Law Enforcement Animal:

Chap. 543 OREGON LAWS 2003(4)

“Law enforcement animal” means a dog or horse used in law enforcement work under the control of a corrections officer, parole or probation officer, police officer or youth correction officer, as those terms are defined in ORS 181.610, who has successfully completed at least 360 hours of training in the care and use of a law enforcement animal, or who has passed the demonstration of minimum standards established by the Oregon Police Canine Association or other accredited and recognized animal handling organization.

There has been some confusion with certifying agents and organizations here in Oregon and I wanted to clarify the state statues for everyone to read and hopefully understand. These minimum standards are the state standards. If you need Industry standards there many Industry standards organizations that will keep you within the industry. Don’t be fooled about standards and the politics involved.   Most organizations are industry elite in their standards. Choose wisely your goals and your ability to have an association stand behind their standards. Most organizations, like ASCT,  look for  quality, not quantity in their membership.
